I arrived to the most gorgeous Hilton Head Island beach home on Saturday morning. It looked like a plantation home mansion. White pillars, double brick winding staircases. Black rod iron. Palm trees. This house was just a few steps from the sand and ocean with a private pier that walked out onto the beach. Everyone was getting ready. There was something totally different in the air– no stress. The wedding a bride dreams about includes no stress, no worries and sweet family and friends by her side. That is exactly what this Hilton Head Island wedding had.
I’m so excited to be sharing these details with you. Amanda and Brian’s personalized touches to their day made the wedding elegant, tranquil and most importantly– care free. This sweet couple has been together for about 15 years, and they decided to say their I do’s in a place special to them. Hilton Head was the perfect back drop to this seafoam, lace and lavender inspired day. These two rented a VRBO home for the whole week so they could get married and spend the rest of the time celebrating. Their day was planned exactly as they wanted it without worry about venue policies or set ups. I could go on and on about how much I adored the southern inspiration and mindful details that Amanda and Brian put into their day.
The bride hand made the groom and groomsmen boutonniere with stunning pieces of white corral. She had mentioned to me that they had the coral piece as a decor element when it shattered. What else could she do with it? She couldn’t just throw it out and said she’d finds something to do with it. And so she did. They became one of the most stunning pieces of the day. The coral was accented by dried lavender. Lavender was the main floral element to the day and what an elegant one it was. Her lavender bouquet with white babies breath smelled like a day at the spa with aromatherapy. Her flower choice of a gorgeous flowering herb that is meant for relaxation and cleansing set the tone for this entire wedding day.
A sunny shoreline was the ceremony’s backdrop. Their family and friends gathered round as Amanda made her way to Brain. The guests threw dried lavender and showered the couple with the dried flowers after they said their I do’s. Put yourself in the moment– ocean waves crashing, the smell of lavender in the air and a two people in love committing their life together. Was it even real life?
After becoming Mr and Mrs, bride and groom made their way back down the private pier through the Spanish moss draped palmetto trees. We headed to the front of the home and truly captured the southern elegance that this home offered. After, the celebration began. Can I get an amen for this Lowcountry broil? Literally every element of a Lowcountry wedding you could dream about was a part of Amanda and Brian’s day. They incorporated their favorite deserts and favorite drinks with some dancing. We wrapped up the day with sunset beach walks and sweet family photos. This wedding was definitely one for the books! I’m so thankful to have been a part of this intimate and southern seashore day.
