When one of your favorite places on earth is the beach, sometimes storms come and you worry about your home away from home. When the hurricane swept through Wilmington and Carolina Beach a few weeks ago, it felt like all of North Carolina held their breath, praying that the coast line and those who lived there wouldn’t see much damage. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for all of the shore. Hurricane Florence wiped out homes, caused major flooding and devastation. To aid in the Hurricane Relief efforts, I’ll be donating 10% of every fall session booked to aid our coast. Macy & TJ joined me well before the storm for this gorgeous beach session. I went to high school with Macy, and it was SO good to see her again and meet her sweet guy, TJ. I have to like him since him and my husband share the same name, right? These two are the sweetest and we talked and laughed their entire session. And Macy handled all the wind like a champ! It was something fierce, y’all!
Oh, and word to the wise.. Even if coastal fields by the beach look calming and full of gorgeous rays– they are mine fields waiting to stab you in the feet. Sand cactus (or sea urchins as we like to call them) are so painful. And, of course even after I said “watch for any sand cactus, guys,” we found literally all of them and stepped on them just for funsies. But, that gorgeous golden light was so totally worth the pain and minutes of pulling spikes out of our shoes. Thanks for getting wind blown and stepping on the worst prickles for the most romantic ocean front Carolina Beach session imaginable, guys!
