On a warm summer day in June, I had the best day at Bluebird Meadows Farm in Louisburg, North Carolina photographing such a sweet couple– Catherine and David. This picnic engagement session was all dreamed up and put together by Jerrye Gordon Events. We had everything from wine and a charcuterie board to a beautiful pastel blue bicycle. It truly made the session one of the most romantic I’ve done!
Catherine’s dress from Reformation is one of my all time favorites. The china blue pattern is just what my coastal grandmother heart required. I love seeing a pattern in a new and fresh way. This soft pattern was colorful yet subtle enough to still be elegant and romantic.
How to plan your own Picnic Engagement
So, you’re wondering– how do I plan my own picnic engagement session? I’m sharing with you my favorite tips on where to start. Firstly, grab your favorite cozy blanket that’s large enough to lay on in the grass. Next, grab a cute vintage picnic basket like this one— or request your photographer (me) to bring mine along! Finally, the food and champagne! You can bring along a full charcuterie board from On Board Charcuterie if you’re in Raleigh. You can also create your own with a few different food items from your local store. Easy as that! Now you’re ready for a romantic engagement session that will be memorable and fun!
