Let me paint a picture for you before you scroll below to this snowy North Carolina wedding day. The snow is falling silently the night before your big day. Beautiful fluffy flakes fly through the air and land on the grass. They stick and cover the earth with a beautiful fluffy blanket. You imagine the white lace on your gown with crystals capturing the sparkling light of the snowy ground. Your imagination runs wild–a beautiful orange and pink sunset after saying your I do’s. You and your new husband could not have pictured a more perfect day together.
Now, let’s take that story and put in a plot twist! North Carolina does not see snow often in the Raleigh area. Like, maybe once a year and we freak the heck out. Normally it’s because there’s ice with the snow. The roads become undrivable and while DOT does their best– it sometimes shuts everything down. Instead, we hunker down with some bread and milk and enjoy our stay at home.
Sweet Taylor and Tyson felt some panic the night before their big day. Wondering if vendors would be able to make it to their venue– and how they would solve some last minute hiccups due to the snow. Their incredible wedding planner Meghan with Magnolia Collective put out some snowy issues and made sure everything would run according to plan.
And let me tell you, their day went perfectly! The snow was absolutely breathtaking and added such a gorgeous white ambiance to their sunset portraits. Being a North and South Carolina based wedding photographer, I’d never had the opportunity to photograph a snowy wedding. It was literally all my dreams come true.
Taylor and Tyson were a dream couple, and I’m so thankful to have been a part of their day. These two have been highschool sweethearts when they began dating in 7th grade. Tyson’s mom was Taylor’s 6th grade teacher and it all played out from there. The sweetest love story! And to all tie in with their snowy wedding day, Tyson proposed during a weekend getaway to the mountains with family at Appalachian Mountain Ski Resort. He proposed on the top of the mountain surrounded by family and snow.
I cannot wait for you to take a peek through these gorgeous snowy photographs.
