The Allison Family
There’s nothing quite like spending time with family, especially when it’s in a beautiful location like Daufuskie Island. The Allison family recently celebrated the upcoming arrival of their new baby with a family photo session this past October. It was a day filled with warmth, joy, and unforgettable memories for this Daufuskie Island family session.
Daufuskie Island is a unique place–accessible only by ferry ride which adds to its charm. When the boat arrived on the island I was greeted by the sight of Palmetto trees and golden spanish moss hanging in the Live Oak trees. It’s the perfect backdrop for a family session, and the Allison family couldn’t have picked a better location.
First, We began the session at their family’s home on the Island– a gorgeous southern style home with a beautiful double porch. Next, the Allison family all gathered together with their two little ones. Both sets of grandparents also joined in the portraits, soaking up grandbaby snuggles.
From there, we rode around the island on golf carts. Renting carts is the easiest way to explore the island, and It’s always a fun way be a part of candid family moments. As we explored the island, the golden light from the warm October sun fit the island mood perfectly. Early fall days in South Carolina are usually warm. We took advantage of this weather as the kiddos played on the beach.
This Daufuskie Island family session was a reminder of the importance of family, especially during times of celebration. It was an honor to capture these memories for the Allison family, and I hope that they will look back on these photos with fondness for years to come.
