Two incredibly beautiful people. Husband and wife, Rachael and Colton joined me for the most romantic Atlantic Beach ocean swim session. Rachael is a fellow photographer, and is crazy talented! We connected through a photographer’s group, and I knew this session was going to be breathtaking. The best part? They were totally up for an ocean swim. I’d been dreaming of doing a session just like this for so long. They absolutely shattered my expectations and made this one of my favorite sessions to date.

As I got to know these two, they shared with me their life, story of how they met, and their journey of adopting a precious son. These two were teenage sweethearts who fell in love. Colton was Rachael’s older brother’s best friend, and the story they told me was something you’d hear straight out of a girl next door romance novel. Absolutely precious! Their adoption was finalized this past month, and I could not be happier for them! Their hearts are so full, I can tell. They just beamed with joy when they told me about their little one. Now, a family of three plus some fur babies.

So, what goes into an Atlantic Beach ocean swim session? Being a little water logged and sandy but with a heart full of happiness. I was right there with these two in the ocean, holding my gear up as far as possible. The part of the beach we hid away to was wave-less for the most part. It was an inlet cove with extremely quiet waters. No big crashing waves was a must to keep everything camera wise as dry as possible. And, the water was SO clear. North Carolina’s Crystal Coast has its’ name for a reason. Gah, I love this session!  Rachael and Colton, thank you for being the best couple imaginable and going on this ocean journey with me!
